SLICES OF LIFE BLOCK OF THE MONTH IS DONE!!!

It is with pleasure that I am able to say that Slices of Life BOM is done and hanging in the shop.

This BOM has 12 blocks and each one represents a month and special things that describe that month.  It is hand embroidered on a hand appliqued Dresden Plate.

So when it came to quilting, I knew I had to hand quilt it, it is gridded with a 1 inch Prairie Stitch.

I do want to thank everyone who ventured on this journey with me and to apologize for my delay on the last couple of kits.  When I begin this BOM, my husband was still working out of town, since then he has retired and decided to come home and remodel a big part of our home.

So needless to say, I fell behind.

But it is done!!!

This BOM has a lot of room to add personalization, to make it you own.  You can add birthdays, anniversaries, names etc..

And I am so HAPPY to say that it is now in the shop, and there are a few kits left.

A NEW KIT IN THE SHOP

001

We have a cute new kit in the shop. From the book “Urban Quilts”

It has a black flannel background, and all 100% wool applique pieces. Kits include black DMC floss.

It is a quick and easy project that looks adorable as a wall hanging or in a picture frame.

Could make a cute Mom’s Day gift.

So you know how it is……it is never a quick more this to there…there is always painting involved..cleaning…deciding where things go. PACKING!!!

That is what has been happening over at 2301 Sierra Highway the charming little house was good to us, for the past week or so.

If you remember when we first opened, and now how much the inventory and samples has grown. Classes and Clubs, demos and creativity.  We have shared and have learned.

BIG NEWS

Morning Everyone,

Such exciting news I have to share with you.  You are probably wondering, why are there paint cans on this post, well because there has been a whole lot of painting going on!

Today, Saturday is our last day on Highway 395 (Sierra Highway)

WE ARE MOVING!!

Barri has purchased us a new building.  And she has been working non stop to paint, design it, and make it all hers.  Putting that special “Barri” touch to it. And by the way she looks really cute in overalls.

We will miss the old house, it is quite charming.  And there are loads of special memories there. Working with our customers and friends on their special projects, whether it was quilts, knitting , sewing or embroidery.  All our fun classes that we had there.  The Knitting Group on Tuesday nights, Wednesday Sewing Groups, Embroidery Club and meeting and making new friends.  It was exciting to watch the shop grow from a few bolts to lots of gorgeous fabrics. And the yarn room exploded from one small room to the larger room and overflowing into the fireplace room.  All the Blocks of the Months we did.  Our gorgeous flower pots out front.  Working on our new samples, and watching our customers grow in their talents.

Of course there are things that we wont miss as much…….the cold bathroom, no hot water…..the skunks …. but there were all part of our journey there.  And it was a great time.

But now we are off to make more memories, the new place is adorable and will house many new memories and new projects.  I am sure we will make new friends and still cherish our old ones.

We are excited and can’t wait for you to see it.

Our new address is 117 East Line Street.  We are on the left side as you turn onto East Line Street.  You will spot us right away….we are the cute place.

We will be closed from tomorrow, Sunday and reopen at our new location on Saturday April 20th. I am personally excited because our first class in our new place is my Quilting 101 class.  New location, New Classroom…YOOHOO!!!!

We can’t wait to show you our new shop, and start beginning to make lots of new memories.

Thank you for your support, and for being a part of our journey!!!

See you on the 20th at 117 EAST LINE STREET!!
